Priority handling for people at risk

If someone is using public records to find or harass you, mark your request as a priority request. We handle it within 24 hours and suppress your name, your addresses and your phone numbers together. If you are in danger now, call 911. The National Domestic Violence Hotline answers at 1-800-799-7233 and at thehotline.org. Most states run an Address Confidentiality Program that gives survivors a substitute address for public records. It is usually run by the state attorney general or the secretary of state.

What we can and cannot change

MugshotLookup controls what appears in its own search results and reports. It does not control the original record held by a sheriff, a jail or a court. To change the record itself, for example to seal or expunge it, contact the agency or court listed as its source. Once the source changes, tell us and we update or remove our copy for free.

We never charge for removal

Several states ban charging a fee to take down a booking photo or a criminal record, and we do not do it anywhere. No one at MugshotLookup will ask you for payment to remove, suppress or correct a record. If anyone asks you to pay in our name, write to support@mugshotlookup.com.

Opt-out questions

Do I need an account to opt out?

No. The form on this page is all you need. You do not create an account and you do not pay anything.

Can I opt out for a family member?

Yes, if you are authorized to act for that person, for example as a parent of a minor, a legal guardian or an attorney. Tick the authorization box in the form.

My case was dismissed. Can you remove the arrest?

Yes. Choose Remove a specific record and tell us the county and the approximate date. Dismissals, dropped charges, acquittals, expungements and sealing orders are all grounds for removal, and the request is free.

Will my record disappear from other sites?

No. This request covers MugshotLookup only. Other sites and the original agency keep their own copies, and each has its own process.

How do I use my state privacy rights?

You can also ask to access or delete the personal information we hold about you, or tell us not to sell or share it. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information and the Privacy Policy.
